Tsawwassen / Ladner or North Vancouver
Just curious if anyone has a real compelling reason to choose one over the other.
In the process of selling our house on the Island to move to North Vancouver (where I have a job), but I have an opportunity to apply for a job out in Tsawwassen (same company, just a different location). I know Tsawwassen gets more sun and less rain, but it looks like North Van has more trails for running and mountain biking, and is closer to Vancouver for stuff to do. Probably better transit in North Van.
Anybody in North Van or Tsawwassen want to sell me on their city?

Tsawwassen is definitely less gloomy in the winter, whereas in North Van it seems to always be drizzling.
Both places have that pain in the butt factor when it comes to transit, but Delta is far worse.
Hiking trails in North Van are a definite plus.

I know this was posted a while ago but I might as well add my two cents in. Tsawwassen has the advantage of being really easy to bike as its completely flat except right close to the border. Getting into Vancouver is a bit of a pain, but there are a couple decent bus routes that go through the tunnel to the Canada Line. North Van transit is probably better, but there are some rather tough hills to contend with if you're biking it. That and the rain... It has some gorgeous scenery though.

Former N. Vancouver resident here.
I know the thread is a little on the old side, but, if you're still looking I would strongly recommend N. Van over Tsawwassen. I was able to go virtually vehicle free while I was a student at the BCIT Marine Campus.
The city is very bike friendly and has easy access to the Sea Bus passenger ferry and both the Lions Gate and Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows bridges. There's also access to the Seymour Demonstration Forest which has an AWESOME and very wide (almost 6 meter wide) bike path, though the final bit to the salmon hatchery is a well well maintained gravel path Longer rides into Vancouver and Burnaby from N. Van are easy too, which makes for a nice afternoon ride, or longer if you're so inclined.
