Also looking for some flat riding areas to get my legs and lungs back. Riding hills out my front door is a daunting task just getting going

I'll be moving to Victoria next month with a brand new road bike. Need some advice on good road cycling to get familiar with the area and break in the new rig.

Hi Chris,

Lucky you! Coming from Alberta, the first thing you'll notice is the year-round cycling climate. We also have a great variety of mostly bike friendly roads, amazing scenery and bike-aware drivers. We have plenty of bike shops that are a wonderful source of info, and I would certainly recommend checking out Tripleshot Cycling Club if you are interested in group riding ( all levels! ) and as an endless supply of advice. Good luck!

Andrew

In Victoria for flat cycling there is two good options...Galloping Goose and Lochside Regional Trails (Lochside is flatter) both start right downtown and are good from rides anywhere from 10k-50+.
