How far south......

would I have to travel to find a place to ride that may get up to 60+ degrees in Jan. or Feb. By then I'm ready for at least that much warm air instead of thawing out my face mask!!!!

Not far, Cleveland has a record high of 73 in Janurary and 70 in Feburary. Ofcourse if you want to plan a vacation where you have a good chance of warm weather Cleveland's not the place, the average high is 33 in Jan and 36 in Feb.
Using weather.com averages and records I found that Atlanta has an average high of 55 in Jan and 57 in Feb and Miami has an average of 73 for both months. So it looks like you need to go south of Atlanta for a decent winter vacation. Play with weather.com to see where it gets you.

Palm Springs California, average winter daily highs are about 76 degrees. Phoenix is just a degree or two cooler.

I ride all year long in Gainesville, FL. Some of the early morning commutes can be a wee bit chilly, which means that I need full fingered gloves on those mornings unless I wish to ride one handed and keep switching hands.

Hell, one in three winters here of late have had a quickie warm spell of that calibre. 'Course we pay for it and there's usually a mountain of sand at every intersection by then.

You talking Rankin or Kelvin? Either way, you only have to go as far as upstate NY to beat those.
