Colorado Freezer - Cheyenne Canyon (Pics)
With temps hanging in the single digits (7 degrees F)...it's a wonder I was able to convince anyone to come out for the ride. It was a spectacular day, slightly cloudy with brilliant sunshine and Colorado deep blue skies.

Wow, I was riding around Fort Collins on Saturday, and that was frigid. Can't imagine what it was like up another 2000 feet.

Climbing 2,000ft vertical on the way up kept us plenty warm...started to get a bit nippy on any exposed skin on the way back down.

Great shots! What kind of camera? For the over-the-bar-shots, were you just holding it there, or some kind of neck strap?

It's a cheap-o Casio QVR-40. Basic point and shoot 4meg digi-cam. It's small and handy though. I zip tie a cell phone case to the shoulder strap on my hydration pack (the case sits just below my left collar bone) so the camera is always quickly accessible.
The over the bar and over the shoulder shots just take a little balance and practice...with digital of course you can practice and fire away until you get it right. The more technical/bumpy the trail gets - of course the more difficult it gets to pull off the shots! I almost fell right after that over the shoulder shot. |
