Yep, just compleated my second century this month. Someone on another forum challenged a century a month, and I'm crazy enough to accept it and go along with it.
I did a nice little ride to Northfield MN, south of the Twin Cities, by 45 miles. The ride down was nice, the wind at my back didn't click that it would be in my face when I came home. The ride is also pretty much down hill, so I came home fighting wind and hills. Add to it mentally unraveling, and at the two hour mark I reset my computer and lost 2 hours and 20+ miles.
I was pretty toasty even on the way home, it was the wind that did me in. The road was great the weather other than the wind was superb. I loved the trip out, but headwinds are my undoing, and I just stopped, hung my head and swore I'd never ride another winter century, and I would get rid of all my bikes. I was just short of 75 miles. It just had me and wouldn't let go.
I made it though, and will try for another century in March, then April, and that's about all the snow season here.
