honoring winter cyclists

this was my first winter riding. even though we are still in winter i feel as if the worst is over. i must say that you guys and girls who get out there day in and day out to ride not just to work but for exercise and to keep up to form are truly remarkable.

i had planned to ride my normal 20-40 mile rides this winter but nothing like that happened. the cold won and i stuck to commuting. i think we all deserve to pat ourselves on the back now and then. at the end of this cold season raise a glass and toast yourself and others like you who help you along the way.

thanks to all of you for posting clothing recommendations, tips for dealing with salt, what to do when your gears freeze up, etc etc. i know i would have been walking to work on certain days if it wasnt for this forum. so thanks!

I'm pretty much done with the rough stuff as well, but it's too soon to raise the glass. I usually reserve celebration for that first ride when I am wearing only shorts and jersey. I spend that first ride grinning from ear to ear and thinking how glad I am that winter is over.

hummm. cant wait... and do you remember the wind we get in our face without a bala, goggles and two overlapped "neck tubes"? (just realized that i sure dont know the real name of those...).

i have already eliminated the ski goggles for now... well, until tomorrow since the forecast is for 25cm of snow... just not over yet...
