props for biking in the snow in port jefferson anyway, since it would be so easy to hop into that blasphemous car that we can all see in the background. do you commute on your bike?* if so you could probably justify the tires, otherwise, there's probably no point.
*you should start commuting on your bike.

This is my Surly with my old tires for fenders (ya just cant break em) And the best weather proof bags in the world I make myself. This is my 6th winter totaly car free and I ride all year long now and yes it is cold in Detroit but I do not want to go back to a car! This is the Detroit river looking at Canada.

O-thank you! I have been making bags for all my friends now that I have made this set. People come to me with some crazy things they want and it has been fun. I may have to quit my job and just make weather proof bags, ha ha! ron.

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
Too nice to be limited to just winter... I am going to drop the gearing so I can use it for a little fixed gear xc action.

Mendenhall Glacier - Juneau Alaska
About 13 mile from the state capitol building. What a place to live!
Bianchi Lynx with Nokian studded tires. If I had it to do over again I'd get wider tires. The 1.9's are great for commuting on ice but 2.1's would be better for dealing with snow and ruts.

Those photos aren't uploaded attachments. They're photos that are stored on-line at a site like flikr or photobucket and people are posting a link to their stored pictures in their post.
The code to do so:

Larger the 1.9
Thanks for sharing R88. I've got the Nokian big boys 2.125 and they are amazing but I wondered about going smaller.

I'm curious about the Nokian 700c studded tire series (I've got the 2.125, see my last post). Anybody tried both and like one better then the other?

I wholly agree! My Western Flyer was the winter bike and everything else last year and the Schwinn will join it (Germaine is a bit stronger for taking the ruts).
