2002 Norco Bigfoot (given that "Bigfoot" is now the name given to Norco's fat bikes, perhaps this is an infant Bigfoot).
ATV bar mitts, they don't fit properly at the moment but I will fix that this weekend (-31C windchill over the next couple of days is too cold to do outdoor maintenance).
DIY studded tires: sheet metal screws, point side out (duuuuuh!)
I put it in the Jeep yesterday morning, took my wife to work, took the Jeep and bike to my work and when my wife was finished, delivered the Jeep to her, she drove me back to work and then I rode home at the end of the day. Same thing today, tomorrow, she has the day off so I'll leave the Jeep with her and ride in to work and home again.
This summer, I need to replace the derailleur cables and the front shifter as well as degrease the chainrings, cassette, chain and rear derailleur. I should also take the tires off and reseat the tubes properly (glue the protective tube to the inside of the tire and put baby powder over the inflated tube). The brakes are decent enough, considering the slow speed I go on our poorly plowed sidewalks and bike paths. Really, I need to replace this bike: by all accounts at the time of purchase (my size is the same now as then) I bought the right sized bike but now it feels too small. I think I'll do the cleanup as I've said but then sell it (or give it away in a local program) and replace it with a better fitting bike but I'll try to find one through Kijiji or Sudbury Swap and Sell or the local dump.

Sunlite. I like them, but they are swept back too far. I might saw off a bit at the ends.

It's currently doing 4 season duty until I can get something else together. Just arrived are some Schwalbe studded's from CR cycle to mount for the upcoming cold and ice.

Indeed! I've ridden it two winters now without any fenders and the rear & forward deflector shields need some help. I intend to wrap the rear derailleur in an old inner tube confabulation to act as a grunge guard. That brown "chocolate mousse" of grit, salt and slushy snow wreaks havoc on any bike's drivetrain. Shields up, Scotty! Winnipeg is known for it's arduous winters so it's a good test for this bike to see how it holds up. The frame has been RustChecked on the inside from day one.

When we get snow, the city uses plenty of salt, but I don't ride much when the streets are that messy, so I can't say I've had any derailleur failures from salt and road grime.
I haven't thought about which bike of mine I'll ride in the winter. I hope to be able to ride my Raleigh International. It has mustache handlebars on it now. Last winter it had North Road handlebars. The mustache handlebars are wide, so that could work well. I'd like to get Bar Mitts for it or rig up something homemade. That might be easier than with standard drop bars.

Hmm, I've never heard of that or seen it, but it sounds like it could work. Please let us know how it works out.
