Reacharound brackets for full fender mounting to road bike

Looking to mount full fenders to my road bike using Rivercity's Reacharounds, but they're out of stock for 1-2 months. Anyone have suggestions for alternative brackets?

Pick up some rear rack brackets (between rack and seat stays) and bend them the way you want...

How much do those Reacharounds cost? I don't see a price on their website. I could totally make some of those since I have access to a laser cutter and a sheet metal brake. I'm not sure if I can make them cheaper though.

Has anyone mounted full fenders to a road bike with short reach brakes simply by cutting a notch on either side of the fender where it passes underneath the brake caliper? That way you don't split the fender, and you help minimize the crud that gets thrown onto the calipers.
