helmet questions
Still preparing for my 1st winter and need tips before spending money. My commute is at night on a well lit street 45-55mph. Have a Bell Slant helmet and want to wear goggles with my balaclava on really cold, messy days. Goal is full face coverage. Do the goggle straps go under the helmet? Don't think the angles and helmet coverage look right for going over the helmet. Budget is tight and have purchased a 225 lumen handlebar mounted flashlight. Want a helmet mounted light as well. Do lights such as the Princeton Tec Eos get strapped onto the outside of the helmet or on the forehead/under the helmet. I will probably go with a smaller hi output LED flashlight but was curious.

The goggles would likely have to go under the helmet, unless you have a skate/BMX/FR style of lid. Most helmet lights mount on the helmet - I've never liked the type that strap directly to the noggin. You should be able to use velcro straps to attach a high output light to your helmet.

thx, will look for something without bulky straps or attachments. going with helmet flashlight as well - more bang for the buck. wind/water proof pants, reflective vest, goggles, helmet light, maybe some overshoes and I should be good for the season.

have a rain cover as well. leakage probably wouldn't be bad except in downpours. too bad they don't make magnetic helmet mounts for lights and mirrors. glue a small metal base to the helmet and have a strong (rare earth) magnetic mount. Wonder what affect a rare earth magnetic would have on asst batteries and LED circuits?
