The First Heavy Snow of the Season

5am, 21°F, several inches of snow and rising, during the first snowstorm of the season. For some reason I am compelled to ride a cruiser down the street to the gas station to get some ice cream. Makes perfect sense to me! And I got to leave that sweet trail in the virgin snow with the fat balloon tires. You can see a snow plow passing on the right. Winter is fun!

A surprisingly effective snow cruiser. But it was just fresh snow, I am not sure how well the balloon tires would do on ice.

Thanks! I like that you can see a snow plow passing on the right. I have another version too (sans snowplow):

Nice Shot!

No riding this weekend for me as I'm painting the insides of the house

Man, that's a great pic.

I like the contrast of the quiet, darker path with one trail against the lights and 'motion' of the snow plow.

still enjoying it! It's storming right now. The ride home from work was one of the most fun commute rides I have had all year!

another upstater here, we got our first big snow last night, and I went out today. It was beautiful. I could have done all my errands by car, but biking was just so much better, especially with the snow and slush and nice cold wind.

Love that photo!

Yup, we got that too. A real pain in the breast area to shovel (as a cyclist my upper body is not very much developed).
