“Drybike pogies” is anyone using them and if so what’s you’re opinion about the drybike pogies? They look like they don’t wrap around the bottom of your hand like Moose Mitts do, leaving the under hand exposed. They are only $30.00US. I'm just looking for some opinions on these pogies.

I think they are designed to keep water off, not to keep the cold out. If you need warmth, the Moose Mitts would probably be better.

Yea your probably right. but the Moose Mitts are like 50.00 plus dollars.

I think I might give these a try I found them @Cabelas.com in the ATV section, Handle bars are Handle bars.

I have a pair of moose mitts. They are very warm. I hardly need gloves, except for the cold metal of the brake levers.

OK guys I just bit the bullet and clicked the buy button for the Moose mitts over at Trails Edge.com. I hope Abby and Mike have an extra pair made up for me. From what I see, they make them by hand and have a limited supply. This exactly what I want handmade and with some thought about the winter cyclist wearing them.

I have a pair and they are great. Well worth the wait. I just wish they also made them for road bars.

I wish they did make Moose mitts for road bars. This would extend my road bike riding for the season. I think we need to shoot them a few e-mails an ask them to make a few pairs.

I called and spoke with the owner. He explained that they make them by hand, and they are usually at capacity. If they created a demand for road pogies, they wouldn't have the means to produce them. Plus, they seem to be primarily a MTB shop, so putting that kind of effort into something for road bikes may not make a lot of sense for them.

I made my own last winter and have them on now,sewed them up out of polortec wind block material and lined them this year with small bubble wrap!! (Mountain bike..) You guys wouldn't believe me if i told you how warm they are, and if i had the time, i know they could be made for road bikes, but my plate is full for now,but if nobody starts making them this year, i will try to make some for next year... joe

I found another option today CliMitts. They look just like Moose Mitts and are only 39.99 US. Sorry to say no road bar option. I found them over @ https://amlingscycle.com/itemdetails....ogId=39&id=902 I hope my Moose Mitts arrive soon.

I was thinking that today if the Moose mitts don't cut it. I'm going to line them using some wind stopper fleece and Velcro to attach them to the inside of the mitts. The bubble wrap is an excellent idea.

Here are some facts:
You shouldn't need any additional wind proofing. The Moose Mitts use wind proof and water proof 1000 denier cordura as a shell.

We are now taking orders for the road version...I had it done last year and we tested it locally as well as in Seattle.

Were always making these it is a never ending stock. but we usually do not have extra pair laying around until late in February. This said I am pretty sure that any orders placed recently are about 2 weeks at most. We've gotten a lot more proficient at the process

I have a pair and they fit somewhere between nothing and moose mitss. When mounted, they wrap around the bottom of your hand to about the base of your wrist. The insides are insulated so they add warmth but since they are more open than gloves, they aren't as warm but they do cut wind. I think they are a good option when its not bitter cold outside.

Here is a quick pic....This was the first prototype and we made some slight changes to the shape for better upright riding position...i.e. with a messenger bag on or commuting.

I'll post up more pics as we get the final versions ramped up on production. Right now I have a ton of standard MM to get out for the holidays. But I do have about 7 road pair that I am hoping to finish and get shipped by the end of the month (Including your's Bob :-) )

I just received the Moose Mitts yesterday, Why Yesterday long story, It was my end of the deal/U.S. postal service not trails edge.com. I'll work that out with Mike later They have great Customer service.

All I can say is wow! These mitts are made of top-notch quality material, very wind proof and waterproof 1000 denier cordura. The kind you see in high-end backpacks. The stitching looks like top quality. There is plenty of room for shifting and braking; you could fit both of your hands into one mitt if the arm opening was larger. They are also lined with some very thick and soft blue with snowflakes fleece. (The snowflakes must have been Abby’s Idea)

The first ride 11 miles 33F and 15MPH headwinds with thin lava wool liner gloves. I found myself stopping to get rid of the gloves at the 6-mile mark.

I am glad to hear they worked for you just as well as myself...I really appreciate your patience too. I only wish I could sew faster But we are getting much much quicker and the wait is now down to about 2 weeks versus 3 before the holidays.
