Ski goggles with glasses = fog...
A friend just gave me an old pair of skiing goggles for my cold weather commutes. The only problem is that I wear glasses, and they fog up big time after about 5 minutes of riding. Any suggestions? Are there any products that actually work to keep lenses clear, or maybe I need to upgrade to a better pair of goggles (ones with fans, for example). I'd really like to do something about this, I'm so sick of having frozen tears stuck to my face! Thanks!
have fans, they work MINT
I use a pair of Carrerra ski goggles that are double lensed, and they fogged slightly over a 10 mile ride at about -10F last night. They have not fogged in many -5 commutes so far.
When it is that cold, my eyelashes sometimes get a little frozen frost/tears on them, but it's never been bad.
I bought some bike goggles early this winter that were single lensed, and they really sucked. They were promptly returned.
I have a hole in my balaclava in front of my mouth so I can blow the air straight out and not have it travel up into the goggles.
Hope this helps!
There is a post that covers that subject. But to make things quick. One solution to your problem is to dab your finger with some hand soap or shampoo and rub it on the lens, Inside and outside. Rub a thin coat on, and then buff it with a cloth. Do this on your eyeglasses also. It works. Its good for about 10 days or so. It beats spending $$ on some bull**** and you won't have to buy an expensive pair of ski goggles.
