Coldest Official Temperature (lower 48 states)

January 20, 1954 Roger's Pass, Montana elev 5610' ASL.
Officially recorded -70F BELOW ZERO.


Just a little bit of trivia for our ICE BIKER friends.

I beleive Gunnison Colorado is consistently one of the coldest places in the lower 48.

Yep, so is West Yellowstone, MT and Inernational Falls, MN.

I was sure, for the longest time, that Mt. Washington would have this distinction. But alas! It has only been as low as -47degF on that Godforsaken rock.
