I've tried a few different gloves with decent success but am hoping something may work better. I use them for commuting but also for long weekend rides (centuries and longer) with temps down to and slightly below freezing.
What I've tried:
Gore BikeWear soft shell windstopper gloves with a very light fleece lining. These work decently. My hands always get clammy and cool feeling though after a few hours. I'm assuming they don't breathe enough. I add a hand warmer in to them for the really cool days.
Marmot goretex ski gloves w/ primaloft insulation - these are a lot warmer than above but also have the cold and clammy issue after a few hours because the goretex does not breathe enough. If I run into warmer conditions they are sopping wet and don't dry unless I take them off for the night.
