    Spoke/nipple/rim corrosion

I'd like a set of wheels that will still be trueable without continuously maintaining them during winter.
If this is possible, what kinda materials should spoke/nipples be made of, or would SS eyelets on the rim help?

stainless steel spokes and nickel plated brass nipples are relatively corrosion free.
Food for thought: if you aren't dead by 2050, you and your entire family will be within a few years from starvation. Now that is a cruel gift to leave for your offspring. ;)

I'll add that the rim/spoke-nipple interface is the only place on my bike (other than the chain) where I've ever seen any corrosion.

    No idea why.

probably because they don't have a protective coating like paint or oil and are closer to the ground.

There is very little paint or oil anywhere on my bike

I was going to try to pin the blame on some kind of salt-brass-AL reaction, but I'd be totally making it up.
