Is that Charles road up from Nine Mile?
Nope, Hatch Rd on the South Hill, northbound, with the Manito CC on the right.

Lame winter pic, I know, but we're just getting started!

Downtown Oslo had lots of rain yesterday and no snow but above 700 feet it fell as snow.(I met the plough half a mile up the road, very nice ride from then on.)

First real signs of winter today. I almost wiped out coming to a stop sign - time to get studs. LBS sells the Nokian 106, not sure if I should just go with those or order the Nokian 240.

basically unridable anywhere unless you have a pugsly or some really fat tyres so you can float on the snow.

35mm W106 at 35psi was completely inadequate.

First real winter ride

Hi everyone - longtime lurker here! I started winter biking this season, with my old GT Zaskar. Here's a pic from the Don Valley trail in Toronto...

Here are pics from my first snow ride ever...... this is coming home from work during the storm that hit the northeast. I think I am in love..... it kept the ride interesting and fun, thankfully I only saw 4 cars on the road during my ride.

Snow Storm Spokane

One day after the snow storm that dumped 24 inches in the city in 36 hours, the city was starting to recover and get plowed out. The clouds finally blew out, leaving a clear cool day. Starting temp: 0F. Cool, but managable, and nice to get out in the sun.

This is Alan on Howard heading into downtown:

Riverfront Park:

Crisp cool morning in Riverfront Park:

Met up with Pat at the Rocket, with his new Karate Monkey

Bikes on High Drive Bluff:

Alan hiking up the bluff. See video

Next stop, Winter Solstice...

Took a pic of the house and myself after the ride today. Just rode around my local area nothing fancy. The trails have a few feet of snow on them and more is comming down. The early football games sucked so I needed to get out of the house.

In the winter (as ever) the best way to ride is in a group!

On a very cold morning in mid-december 2009, around 0F outside... We had just finished climbing a 250 feet hill

And on the december full moon of 2009, the temperature was quite warm indeed - 15F or so!

Not enough snow you say? Look at the wheels!

Remember that old episode of Twilight Zone? The one where the people took pics of horse racing boards before the race that showed the winner? The camera always took pics of the future. The ending was wonderful.

Lunch stop on tour, in a church driveway a bit down the road from this trailhead. It's for the Black River Greenway. In (or just north of) Chester, NJ.
