Some slightly underwhelming video from yesterday's ride. We were just testing things out and hope to have some better footage soon.

Everytime I see a Pugsley I want to move north so I can justify getting one.

Well so far I've had it at -40 deg C twice for about 45mins each time and at -20 deg C for several hours....it hasn't had any issues at all so far. Shifts great.

Have a look at these photos...you don't need to be up north to have fun on a Pugsley.

Hey Vic! Great photos! And thanks for inspiring us!

We got a singlespeed Pugsley as our joint Xmas present and it is fun beyond belief! Glad to hear the Alfine is holding up in the cold temps... That might be our next purchase! Hard to have one Pugsley for a couple!

Ya you need two...I was thinking about getting a second Pug in a smaller size so I could take friends out riding...

True, but I really can't justify, even to myself let alone my better half, a 7th bike. Still, one can dream.

Took my bike for ride to the bar the snow flakes had gotten lighter when I arrived so they are hard to see. This Fuji does very well in the snow better when I'm on it.

The trails still have a few feet of snow on them so I hit the road for a few hours yesterday. This is a view of Long Lake outside of Tum Tum.

We got out in the state forest yesterday with the Studs. A lot of snow on the trails, so we stayed mostly on ice covered fireroads. Here is a pic of us out on the frozen Reservoir.

A little video I shot yesterday. Pay close attention at 4:45 to see how well ice spikers hold on rutted ice.

50km ramble today on my Pugsley.

It was a little icy in spots, but the majority of trail conditions were hard packed.

The Pugsley got lots of attention...

I took a ride down the snowmobile trail near my house. It was packed down in most places, but soft to much so I decided to go home over the lake. Great ride!
This is where I came from.

Stopped for a snack and pics.

This way home!

Nice views from the Lake (Mt.Chocorua)

The trails are almost ridable on top of the snow when it's cold enough. A few more weeks and we'll be home free!

For us on the east coast, it depends on how many freeze/thaw cycles we go through with the snowpack. Or if I'm hard-pressed, I go looking for nordic skier tracks. If it's fresh snow I just break out the x-country skis.

We had a funk'n awesome ride today in fresh snow on buff singletrack...it was flowing like a river with perfect traction and pristine whiteness as far as the eye could see...

From a recent ride. A Pugsley would have probably helped.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EXif6IwPcc&frmt=18

Did another run on a neighboring creek this last week (it was much, much colder out and 10x faster), but lost our good helmet cam due to bad battery and am still editing (or trying to).
