The great Hanukkah Blizzard of 2006

Didn't need a bike rack that year Snowed on the first night of Hanukkah and continued with 6 major storms until the middle of January. I had glaciers in my neighborhood (6"+ of ice) until the first part of March.

The Hanukkah Blizzard. Wasn't that the time when the airport was closed for a while? I wondered if anyone was riding that winter.

The car and house pictures were taken before Christmas. The bike pictures were taken New Years Eve (9 days later) during another blizzard. Just after the picture was taken, the only snow plow we saw from 12/23 (or so) until 3/1 came through my neighborhood. The road was nice and smooth for my ride back home...didn't stay that way, however

I must be crazy, but these pictures get my heart a-beatin. Pitter-pat. I love the Nature vs. human battle that is winter biking. Wish we could get some snow here soon.

(please, no one is allowed to link to this comment in February when I am complaining.)

Wow, all those pics look awesome, I am jealous, we don't get any snow here. We complain because the temperature goes below 40 about 3-4 days a year!

My drive way last winter. Just can't wait for this year's snow. NOT!

My favorite winter shot, actually taken near the end of March so it was technically spring. But hey, I still had snow in my yard on May 8.
