Nokian 294 Extreme's versus Freddie's Lite

I rode with a friend yesterday on badly ploughed fireroads. He used 294's and I rode with Freddie Lite's. In loose snow conditions the extra width of the Lite's made a real difference. I am really satisfied with the wider Nokians as an all purpose winter tire. It is not as slow on Tarmac as you would suspect, and it works really well on most other ice and snow surfaces. I have not tried the Ice Spiker Pro from Schwalbe that may be as good or better according to some tests. On badly ploughed roads the extra 2.3 wide tires certainly had the edge on the 294's.
