Pogies vs OvenMitts

What is better (in your opinion) for winter riding pogies or oven mitts? Which is easier to deal with, warmer etc.

I would like to get one or the other, I just cant tell whats better.

actual oven mitts or just really big mittens? I've used an early road version of www.trails-edge.com pogies (they call them moose mits) and they were really warm. It was about 20 degrees out and i was wearing thicker gloves, and they were actually a bit too warm. A pair of thinner gloves matched with them would be perfect. They have plenty of room for shifting and putting your hands in just about any positions.

there are these big over mitts that you can get to go over your gloves, i think the idea behind them is that its easier to match 'oven mitts' and other pairs of gloves than just buy tonnes of different gloves.

well, the nice thing about moose mitts are you still have full mobility of your hands to shift and break. You wouldn't be able to do that with huge mittens.

+1 on the moose mitt's-iv'e used them down to 13f so far, and with only wearing glove liners, they are great..plus you got room for a snot rag..joe

I just got a pair of Dogwood Designs pogies. They're excellent. I now use those with some light winter gloves and I'm plenty toasty down to -30 C. I used to have issues with even the biggest mitts at those temps.
