I'd say you're absolutely right about the neti pot ... but ... that "little weird at first" goes away with the "Simply Saline" products. Their ease of use is amazing, and they're aerosol pressurized, so it's a simple point-and-shoot procedure.
Either is good, though.
By the way, I wouldn't use ANY product that is preserved -- particularly any product preserved with Benzalkonium Chloride (look for it). It is well established that it eats mucous membranes and destroys the ciliary function (the tiny hairs that 'sweep' the sinuses, filtering out stuff).
The same is at least as true for eye drops.
Benzalkonium Chloride (BAK) -- over years of unknowing use (prescription eye drops) destroyed my eyes and my sinuses (what goes in the eyes, ends up in the sinuses).
Simply Saline is preservative-free, btw....
