wisconsin, oh how you tease me

its gonna be 65 degrees ferenheit tomorrow, im going to be riding the road bike like its my last day on earth!

5 bucks says the temperature dips back down below 0 atleast one more time before this whole thing is done.

the temperature has been changing like a rollercoaster lately. 50 degree differences in one week. i really have to check the weather forecasts before work. i left for a ride in shorts the other day, it was 50 degrees, it was below freezing when i was done.

my coworkers think i am insane for riding in a t-shirt in 40 degree weather, its 80 degrees warmer than it was earlier in January, i think I'll survive.

I know what you mean about the weather. Back on March 1st it was 12F in the morning... was Spring EVER going to make an appearance. The last few days have been amazing. Its been right around freezing in the morning, but in the afternoon it's gotten up into the 50's... feels like an amazing heat wave. Sorry to agree with your co-workers... I am still not ready for T shirt outside, but certainly a light jersey is all I need.

I too am waiting for that last Winter storm. We almost always get an other 1/2 to 1 foot of snow right around Easter. It will be wet and sloppy and won't stick around for more than a few days. At least for the next 10 days things are looking very nice for our area. Tomorrow there is some rain in the forecast, but 1 day of precipitation out of the next 10 is pretty darn nice. I am still leaving on the snow tires as I know that as soon as I take them off there will be some killer snow storm. Am I superstitious, not realy, its just that the last day of frost on record is still 30 days off. I won't even consider take off the snow tires till April 1st.

I did take the road bike out over the weekend. Holly cow that is fast... after spending the last 5 months riding on my hybrid with Nokia W106 tires. I normally have a hard time averaging about 14 MPH during with all the winter gear on the bike. I did the same ride on my road bike and averaged over 18 MPH. It felts soo good.

Happy riding... and still waiting for that last snow storm

Last week we hit a day time high of 14C (58F). There was a huge melt and i was wearing a t-shirt on the way home. About 2 days later the daytime highs were -12C (10F) with another sizable dump of snow. Now that's a tease. Still waiting for the temperatures to recover to 'seasonal'.

Even in the blistering March weather in Iowa, we all know that one April morning we will wake to discover a fresh fall of freezing rain and all I need do is pump up the tires... [my secret is a second bike: the ice bike will languish while the weather is great]
