Glue studded tire to rims
I'm about to mount my studded tires this weekend. I read that some people glue one side of the tires to the rims to prevent slippage. Anybody do that?

I've never heard of that. Studded tyres mount just the same as any other tyres.
I glue patches of inner tube to cover the screw-heads in my DIY studded tyres.

maybe the glue thing comes from MTB crowd who use very low air pressure and can get tire creep? tire creep can damage the inflation valve.
I've never needed glue for my studded tires.

+1 - that's probably where the idea comes from. Mine stay in place no problem. Dont over think it, mount those heavy bastards up and get out there and feel the burn!

yeppers, that is a problem for some of the super wide rims and tires run at the lower pressures(5-8PSI) used for fatbikes....
no need to glue regular studs, just mount and use
make sure you take it easy for the first 25 miles or so for the break in

I think for most 150-200lb. riders on 1.95/2.1 tires pinch flat will become a problem before tire creep with modern rims and tires. If you are running fattire-type wide rims and tires, or if you are very light weight, you might get the pressure low enough the spin the tire a bit, but I've never seen it on a normal tire/rim setup.
