No side valve, but as I mentioned earlier, it is possible to add a discharge tube so that the wet exhaust moves down as far as you want. Cost was something less than $1 at the big box store, big roll of thinwall flexible tubing at various diameters, and one size matched closely the discharge valve. Priced by the foot.
