Gore Path pants in cold weather

I need to get some new rain pants, and am considering the Goer Path pants. However, I'm wondering if they would make a good outer layer for cold weather. Does anyone have experience with these pants? Are they pretty windproof? Would they do well below freezing with some thermal tights?

I wear goretex all winter they are a decent windblocker and I usually wear sweats or shorts with leg/calf warmers underneath. They do perform well below freezing and "obviously" keep you dry.
