woo hoo, just got my first "real" studded tires this year too, last year I made a set of DIY ones that worked well so I thought it was worth giving the real thing a shot. Now I am just hoping for ice and snow!

good pick for the tires, Nokians are really a top of the line tire...I have used my Nokians for the last 6 years, not one problem and they are still ready for another year

make sure you break them in properly, and they will last a long time which will justify the cost when the $ is spread over many years

get ready for some fun, the studs will make winter riding extra fun....also after riding the studs for a winter, next spring when you swap out you'll feel like superman when riding your regular tires

    have fun

I got a pair of Nokian studded tires a few weeks ago, too. I went with A10 700x32. We don't get a lot of snow here in Springfield, IL, but I want to be prepared, especially for when precipitation might be freezing on the way home, etc. I haven't put them on the bike yet, but will do so a couple of days before we are forecast for icy stuff.

My regular tires are kevlar-reinforced Kenda 700x32 that I run at 100 psi. The Nokians I bought are rated for 58 psi. I know I will have more rolling resistance to work against. Should I be worried about more frequent flats than with my kevlar tires? Does the knobbier tread on the Nokians help any with that?
