Sealing gap between sleeves and gloves?

Most of my cold weather clothing experience has been from skiing and normally I would just overlap my glove liners, base layer, outer gloves and jacket in alternating layers. On a bike though, with arms outstretched, my sleeves seem to be too short and eventually separate from the gloves and let a bunch of cold air on my wrists and up my arms. Arm warmers would work, but would be too long and kinda overkill. What do you guys do? I was thinking of maybe cutting the ankles off a pair of tall socks, but does anyone make anything off the shelf for this?

Always choose gloves with a gauntlet style wrist. e.g. http://www.rei.com/product/766531/ma...er-gloves-mens

Yes, serious gloves always have long wrist coverage.

Also serious jackets and serious base layers are designed to come down over your wrists. Some base layers (and even some jackets) have thumb holes to hold them sleeves under your gloves.
