Storing away wool over the summer?

I am thinking it might be a good idea to gather all of my wool and heavy winter clothing items and store them until autumn. Perhaps in a plastic storage bin. Just wondering what others do, and if anybody has any tips to offer. This is my first post-winter as a year-round bicycle commuter....

I have had moth holes in one of my vests, so after that I started putting cedar balls or chips in the pockets when I store them. Seems to work, haven't had any holes since. Wool is a natural fiber and should really be kept in something that has air transfer. I tend to store mine in paper bags, not plastic containers or sacks. Most of the time, wool will be fine but when it isn't.....you regret it deeply after spending so much on it.

I use the cedarwood balls and top them up with cedar oil every year. One or 2 in the drawer keeps the moths at bay.

My merino wool sweaters go into a plastic bucket with a lid along with a few good sized chunks of red ceder. Bucket sits on shelf in garage until next winter.

I just put my wool in the drawer of my armoire.

Oh good, a topic I know about  (I'm a knitter!). Wool should be stored in something breathable or in a cedar chest. Moths are deterred by cedar or lavender (easy to buy or sew some small pouches that has dried lavender) in it. Stay away from the toxic moth balls. You can put your wool items in a zip-up pillow case for a quick, inexpensive solution.

Haven't had much wool cloting for years, besides wool socks which I wear year round. The last wool jacket I had I stored in one of the vacuum bags like Space Bags : https://www.spacebag.com/. Air, insect and water tight.
