Tyres for Stelvio Pass in snow
Hello! I'm going to cycle up the Stelvio pass this weekend with a good chance that it will snow. What kind of tyres would be most suitable to get me up the moutain efficiently and down the mountain safely?
I have a steel road bike with Michelin 4 tyres on the front and Gatorskins on the back. Would this setup be okay? Otherwise I have Swalbe Marathons but they are much heavier and would make it much harder to get up the mountain.

Consider a 4-season tire like the Vittoria Rubino Pro Tech or the Continental Grand Prix 4-season.
If you can fit a 700x35 tire, the Continental Winter Top Contact would be ideal.

yeah, the rubino protecs from vittoria have a nice soft rubber compound, as do - if they still make them - michelin's rain tire.
The Rubinos protechs ride much nicer than conti four seasons.
my first choice would be rubino protechs in a 25 if your bike will fit them. Vittoria paves are super nice, too nice for me, but probably the premier choice for a bike with clinchers.
