ISO Breathable waterproof Jacket

Greetings - May be the wrong time of year to be asking this question, but I have had trouble finding the right jacket to wear on those days that are just a bit cold and/or rainy. Not sure if there is one solution, or I need more than one item (for rain vs. cold).
Key 1) Breathable so I don't build up a cold sweat
Key 2) Waterproof
Extra plus is if it does not take up much space and is appropriate for a road bike (a bit fitted)

Any suggestions!

Thanks!!!

Among waterproof breathable jackets the most breathable i know are the essence and super mica jackets from marmot and the 2 1/2 and 3-layers Dermizax™(NX) with underarm zips vents jackets from Bergans of norway
Helium Jkt Black/NeonGreen S - Bergans of Norway
http://catalog.bergans.us/clothing/j...90-p0000773881
Essence Jacket | Marmot.com
Super Mica Jacket | Marmot.com

the marmot one are air permeable so they let some wind get through which can be painfully noticeable under windy cold days. (not as the same level as softshells tho 0.2CFM vs 2CFM for polartec shield pro)

zips remain the best option over materials when looking for breathability

More breathable=less water-resistant/proof.

Not any more i believe, they stopped degrading quality for a while at around 20 000mm waterproofness.
Looking at the marmot jackets specs waterproofness is at ..... 10,000 mm minimum JIS-L 1092

Time to make my next waterproof-breathable jacket with toilet paper.

bike cape 100% waterproof from above , equally open and breathable from beneath ..

Actually, this is the perfect time of year. During spring and summer, you may find good deals on stuff that didn't sell over the last season. I'm pretty happy with this jacket and pants. These items are less breathable than some other rain gear, but they are windproof and kept me warm and dry all winter.
