Almost makes one wish for the days when a Chevy water pump cost $20, and took 10 minutes with a socket set in the driveway to install.
my wife's Pontiac has a waterpump that can be changed in minutes, and the last one I bought cost about $20. The thing has its problems, but that is one thing that GM does right. On my Ford with a Japanese engine, changing the water pump cost $1500, but that was because the Ford dealer didn't know how to do it. I could get it changed in a few hours.
