I think that IRO high-flange hubs are basically rebranded Formula hubs. Harris also carries them with their own branding, as well as the Formula-branded ones.

You can pay $40-45 each for them at Harris, or get them from IRO's bargain basement for $40 the pair.
Maybe the $20 low-flange jobs are low-rent. I imagine the reason that the high-flange hubs are in the bargain section is that IRO has gone to Dia-Compe for their premium hub now, the un-holey ones that cost a lot more.
I ordered a set of the bargain high-flanges for my son, who wants a singlespeed (yeah! second bike, maybe I've got him hooked!) so we'll see what they look like. I thought it was a deal. If I like them, and they're still available, I might get a pair for myself.
