Anti-sweat singlet: any opinions?

I have been a 100% work clothes commuter for quite a while, I dress as I would be dressed if I were taking other forms of transport. Recently, however, the weather has been terribly hot or terribly wet. Which made me think of getting a singlet that I could wear, while keeping my clothes in my bag, saving it from getting dirtied or sweat-ridden. After the ride, I'll just put them on once the sweat disappears. Sounds like a better idea.

I've been looking around for clothes, so far I found the Defeet Un-D-Lite Tank as a great match, since Bicycling says it's good at sweat management (you don't feel so sweaty). But coming from Bicycling, where everything is reviewed positively, I decided to come to this forum to ask for more opinions before I head out to spend money.

Does anyone wear a base layer and then put on your work clothes? How do you dress to counter sweat when you do not have a shower at your destination (supermarket, town, etc.)? Lastly, anyone wears the Defeet Un-D-Lite ?

Thanks,
X.
