The bones is a SARIS product that holds bicycles on the trunk of your car. A very well made rack. I do not believe that your thread was hijacked. I do not believe that the bicycle is at any greater risk perched on the back of your car than when perched atop it. There are many threads about roof racks discovering low overheads. Downside of a bones is that you loose trunk access.
