As near as I can tell, the sagres started as a road bike in it's youth and slowly put on weight. It's now a fat "lifestyle" bike. This was somewhere in the middle of it's atrophy. This one started as a road leaning highbred w/ an aluminum frame, 700c tires & trigger shifters. The drops unfortunately made it expensive to turn into a fixy. But an
eno eccentric hub makes anything possible. The nokians and fenders do fit, if just barely. I love the control of fixed wheel on snow/ice. The ability to backpedal is gives awesome agility and feel on slick roads. Plus, I love the additional rubber neck effect I get when I strap my HID light on it and do a trackstand at a stop sign on an icy night.
