I think a lot of you are missing the larger point here. It's a somewhat growing topic in philosophy of multiculturalism/group rights. A lot of writing uses Jewish (religious) law in NYC vs. NYC law. For instance, the process of divorce for hasids requires a get.

Personally I believe it it boils down to public / private property. Levy wrote a paper this year on it which can be found here, although I know none of you are going to read it, and rather rant about bike lanes.
