Have fun, I love Specialized personally. Have fun and welcome. You will find that most mtbers are laid back and very nice.
Okay i would like everyone for helping me decide

I have come up with 2 bikes to choose from

-Specialized Rockhopper A1 FS (650)
-Gary Fisher Tassajara (599)

I am leaning torwards the Gary Fisher, dor under $600 it sure comes with great components.
