As someone who once worked as a bike mechanic at a reputable shop in the San Fernando Valley, I can tell you that tune-ups for bikes are useless. This $130 includes looking the bike over for loose bolts, making sure the shifters shift smoothly, making sure the brakes work well, lubing the chain and checking it for wear, and cleaning the bike. Anything else found to be wrong with the bike at that time (chain, gears, cables, brake pads) costs extra to fix.

Check and lube the chain, bearings, and cables, and the rest is just fixing anything that needs adjustment or replacement.
