This is one of the reasons I really like a helmet cam (or bar cam). My recollection of events seems to be slightly inaccurate. "I was about 10th spot" really means I was about 15th-20th. "I made a small move on the backstretch" - on reviewing the tape I spent most of the backstretch in the wind. Etc etc.

When I crashed last fall it was the first time I crashed seriously in my racing "career", 26 years. I hit my head and don't remember the couple seconds before I hit my head, including the actual fall. I actually had my helmet cam rig but declined to put it on. Had I put it on I think I'd have a much clearer picture of what happened.
