A couple of suggestions:

1. Call every airline that flies there and ask them for their rates. The U.S. airlines vary widely in their rates. I think Frontier is very reasonable and United is expensive.

2. Call Greyhound and the train and ask them for their rates. This would involve sending the bike on ahead, but it could work.
