Certain degree of truth there. I once had a very good experience at the start of the annual Liverpool -> Scarborough Coast to Coast Ride. (170 miles). The ride started off near Liverpool docks, after a few miles we caught a grain lorry at some traffic lights. We stayed in it's slipstream as far as Preston which is about 30 miles. We had spells of 45mph and actually climbed a 10% hill at about 25mph. We completed the actual 170miles at an average of 19mph
