The Mavic is a good rim, but recently I have had some trouble with their lighter rims, Open Pro, Reflex, and what was the 517. Several of them cracked at the eyelet after a few thousand miles. Even with VERY careful tensioning I could not get the Reflex to hold up. Of course a more fair comparison to the Deep V would be a cxp33, that is a tough rim
