I've tighten it down quite a bit I did wipe off some of the gobs of grease last night and I re-adjusted my seat post to it's proper height and marked it with a silver sharpie.

The seat post is the right size it is the stock post that came on the bike from trek

I'm hoping it will stay if not I might try out the liquid torque
