Yesterday I did a ride with the Folsom Bike race team. They're a lot stronger than me. I managed to hang on (thanks to a few regroups) through the climbing sections (Salmon Falls, Old Foresthill, ForestHill). The first 30 miles or so had something like 4000 feet of climbing. On the few little stingers in Auburn, I was shelled out the back and returned to the shop by my lonesome. That was ok though. I never would have been able to maintain their pace and I feel bad if they have to keep waiting around for me.

I guess I wasn't helped by a bit of mild heat exhaustion in the morning part, and my legs never did feel good.

With the ride back and forth to the start, I ended up with 80.5mi, 4300 feet, and a 15.9 avg. For me, that was pretty darned fast.

I'm going to go back for more punishment on Sunday.
