I took Tim's class back in October 2009 and it was really great. It sounds like it was a really popular class. There are two other classes in the Bay Area that I know of, but I have not taken either of them. They both require two welding classes and a machine shop class if I remember correctly. It adds to the costs, but after taking Tim's class I've taken a semester long welding class and am interested in taking a machine shop class.

The Crucible in the East Bay offers a course: http://thecrucible.org/classes/adult...rtment/welding I believe you're limited to building a single speed mountain bike and I don't see the class on their upcoming calendar.

TechShop down in Menlo Park also offers a course: http://techshop.ws/take_classes.html This class isn't always offered. You may want to give them a call and ask about it.

If you're interested. I wrote about the class I took with Tim on my blog. http://www.seanchon.com/2009/11/hand...of-a-beginner/
