I learned to love my body once I accepted that I was never going to be skinny like my mom and brother unless I starved myself. I am built like the good Georgia women from my Dad's family. Sports also helped, the fact that I was able to beat guys on the basketball and tennis courts more than made up for it. If I were starving myself I wouldn't have been able to do that.

I am working on getting back to my fighting weight after being in a stressful job for a year and not taking very good care of myself. But outside of those few extra pounds, I am happy with how I look. I don't go to bed worrying about how my hips or thighs look, I worry if they will work in the morning for my run or ride.

I love my long legs, even though being cramped becomes a concern when buying a bike. I love being tall, aside from the problems of finding a guy that's taller. And I love knowing that no one will ever accuse me of being built like my skinny brother.
