Wonder what he'll want for it. Anyways, my wife and I will be in your neck of the woods tomorrow riding our Raleigh Coupe tandem in the MS Bike tour. Thanks Again.
Well, there you go - you've got the disease my friend, already looking to upgrade!
I picked up a 14spd 92 TREK 1500 at Salvation Army several months ago. It was in very clean shape and Shimano 600 equiped like yours. Like you experienced, it is whisper quiet - makes my Miyata sound like German armor by comparison. I don't like how it rides though, the aluminum frame feels funny compared to my beloved steel bikes. I rode it all around Solvang one weekend, and never got used to it - go figure. Maybe I'm a Luddite....
I was going to sell it off, but the wife glommed onto it, and she can really scamper about on the thing. It is a very fast bike for her because it is so light. Now the '82 Fuji Team is back on the trainer.
BTW, by the looks of it, you and me ride the same size bike.
Have fun on your ride this weekend - I didn't know one was going on around here. I was thinking of taking a spin on Sunday, depending on familial obligations. Gotta get ready for the Lodi Sunrise Century on the 21st!
