Thanks for the info. I'll definitely make sure to look for that. From what I could tell, and remember, the brakes were even and worked well when I was on the bike. I am 5' 11" lol and my feet kept hitting the tire when I turned (big feet :K) the bike around the store. I'm going to call the local Salvation Army soon and also check one more bike shop.

I've never had a foot touch a bike's tire while riding on any of the BBS bikes of my childhood, but if I'm careful I know I'll be fine for the time being.

The bike I road seemed to work fine and all and the man at the sporting goods desk was an older man in maybe his 50s or 60s. If he's there later I'll ask him if he assembles the bikes.
Where's the Walmart you work at, if you don't mind me asking?
