Blown out tube, do I need to replace my tire?

Put a new tube in on the trail yesterday and got it up to about 70 PSI before riding back. Today I pumped it up to 120 and I was about a mile out, wondering why the bike was handling strange, when all of a sudden I felt my back wheel starting to rub against the brakes on one spot, then I hear a loud bang. Not sure if it was a pinched tube or what but it came out and popped and left part of the tire over the rim. I managed to put another tube in and get back but I am wondering is the tire still usable or is it possible it got damaged when the tube blew? The tire is a 700x23 Gatorskin with only ~100 miles on it.
On a side note, a sympathetic passer-by allayed some of my frustration by offering me some beer he was lugging back.
